The Ultimate Wedding Dress Shopping Checklist

Wedding dress shopping for the first time and not sure how to best prepare? Or maybe you don't know what or who to bring to your appointment? We got you covered. In this short post we will share some industry tips/ tricks for being the most prepared for your appointment so you can focus on having fun!

Choosing your party

It may be tempting to bring all of your bridesmaids or your friend you haven't seen in a long time to come shopping for your gown with you. However, choosing to bring only your A- list group along to your appointment can make all of the difference.

We suggest bringing no more than 2-3 guests to ensure that the opinions that matter most to you are heard and you can focus on what's important.

Lets Talk Budget

Knowing what you are comfortable spending on your gown prior to coming in for your appointment is key. If the stylist is aware of your unique budget, she can pull gowns that are within your limit and ensure that you don't fall in love with something that is over budget. Keep in mind that the majority of bridal gowns fall between $1999-2700, however many boutiques such as ours have sample gowns in store starting at $1500.

The majority of gowns will need alterations even if they are ordered in for you according to your bust, waist, and hip measurements. Make sure that you set aside on average $200- 500 for alterations to ensure your gown fits you the way you want.

Inspiration

Is your Pinterest board filled with beautiful gowns and styles that you love? If you have been doing some scrolling on the internet and found some dresses you like, we recommend you bring photos of your favorites along with you to your appointment. Our stylists can often see the vibe you are going for from photos and pull gowns for you accordingly.

Don't know what you're looking for? No problem, it's your stylist's job to help you find your dream dress.

What to bring

There isn't anything specific that you need to bring along with you to your appointment. If you have an heirloom piece of jewelry past down from relatives or any other specific items, you know you will be wearing on your day it is always best to bring those along to the appointment. Other than that, coming with an open mind and a positive attitude is all you really need!
