FRANCIS FOSU

LEAD DESIGN

“Im Francis, lead designer at Lily Bride Couture and a lifelong lover of creating beauty through patterns and fabric. My passion began when I first discovered the art of patternmaking and sewing, realizing that every stroke and stitch can tell a story. Now, I get to bring sketches to life as gowns that celebrate individuality, joy, and all the little details that make each bride one of a kind. Watching a brides personal style shine through custom craftsmanship truly is the best part of what I do. Here at Lily Bride Couture, I transfer imagination into gowns that make “I DO” feel even more magical… And honestly thats my favourite part of the job!

OLENA DOTSENKO

COUTURE SEAMSTRESS

"My love for the art of the wedding dresses is rooted in childhood memories of sketching in my grandmother’s sewing room. With a lifelong passion for textiles and tailoring, I also specialize in creating intricate botanical crocheted lace, delicate hand-beading, and custom accessories made from epoxy resin, natural flowers, and crystal beads. My goal is to work closely with each bride to turn her vision into a breathtaking, one-of-a-kind reality. I believe a wedding dress should not just be worn, but experienced—making every bride feel radiant, authentic, and entirely like herself.”

MEDISA TAHERI

COUTUTE TAILOR, PATTERNMAKER, EDUCATOR

"I have spent the past 21 years working in fashion, with much of my career rooted in couture, bridalwear and pattern making. What began with learning the craft of sewing grew into a career that has taken me from running my own atelier in Iran to working in the fashion industry in Canada, while teaching fashion alongside my professional practice. I began my formal fashion education in Iran, studying sewing and clothing design before earning my Bachelor’s degree in Technology of Design and Sewing Clothes. I later moved to Milan, where I completed a Master of Science in Design for the Fashion System at Politecnico di Milano. Before moving to Canada, I ran my own couture atelier in Iran. My work focused largely on made-to-measure bridal gowns and eveningwear, working directly with clients from their first ideas through fittings and the finished garment. Being involved in the entire process meant that pattern making and construction became as much a part of my work as design itself.  Over the years, I have worked with everything from delicate wedding gowns to custom garments and complex alterations. I especially enjoys the problem-solving side of the work—understanding how a garment is built and finding the right solution without losing what makes the original design special. For me, bridal work is particularly meaningful because every dress comes with a different person and a different vision behind it. I love the moment when a gown begins to feel right on the bride—not just technically well fitted, but like it was always meant to be hers. After 21 years, that transformation is still one of my favorite parts of the work."

Our Lily Bride gowns are all handmade in our Kamloops studio- from initial sketch to fully finished garment. Our designs are deeply rooted in the beauty of nature, the nostalgia of vintage fashion, and the meticulous art of hand appliqué. We often discover a piece of lace we love, carefully cut it into individual motifs, and hand-arrange them onto a gown. This artistry ensures that every single piece we create is completely unique and impossible to replicate.” Our lily bride couture gowns are sold as one off pieces in a variety of sizes and can be purchased or used as inspiration for your unique custom designed garment.
